We’ll toast to the New Year and discuss upcoming Comadre events. Then we’ll split into breakout rooms – journaling with Elsa Prado and vision boarding with Julie Anna Alvarez. We’ll end with an open forum, prizes and a fond farewell.

Journaling
Comadre Elsa Prado has been journaling for over a decade. She writes in her journal daily and considers it her therapy and her way of talking to God. Elsa will share her tips for journaling and for being consistent.
Elsa is a Chicago-based author and podcaster. Her children’s books include Max and Cocoa’s and Dear Donor. Her podcast, Wings of Love / Alas de Amor, also centers on children’s safety and care.

Vision Boarding
Comadre Julie Anna Alvarez is a certified Feng Shui consultant and Vision Board expert with 25+ years of experience. She is the Founder and Chief Harmony Officer of “A Life In Harmony x Happy Chi Solutions”, a wellness consultancy.
Julie Anna recommends picking one goal for the new year; gathering your supplies and getting ready to Visualize & Mobilize!
A vision board is a physical poster board/ paper with images, photos, and affirmative words YOU select, and which represent a desire or goal for 2026. Pick one desire/goal for the Vision Board: a new job, good health, a special vacation, new relationship, business success, learning a new skill, a new apartment/home, etc. What you feel most strongly about, get excited about, and will make 2026 outstanding for you — that’s the one you choose to focus upon.
SUPPLIES: Here is your Supplies List:
- a wallet-sized photo of yourself in which you are smiling and happy!
- a sheet of posterboard or construction paper (any size you wish — it can even be something you can easily transport inside your luggage or inside a notebook)
- a glue stick
- scissors
- pictures/images/words/phrases gathered from magazines or printed from the Internet that inspire you and illustrate your goal as vividly as possible
- colorful markers/pens/crayons
- anything else you’d like to enhance your Vision Board with such as stickers, glitter pens, etc.
