
COMADRES AUTHORS’ BOOK LIST
Las Comadres Para Las Americas (Austin, TX) – published COOKING WITH LAS COMADRES cookbook. Sixty Comadres contributed 130+ recipes from main dishes to soups to pastelones to surrollitos to carne guisada to flan to sangria to coquito. Order your copy here.
Las Comadres published a second book, this time a writing journal titled, LATINA, LIVE…LOVE…JOURNAL. The journal contains writing, drawing and coloring pages to encourage calm and creativity. Order your copy and one for a fellow Comadre here.
Both books are fundraisers for Las Comadres, all proceeds go to fund yearly programs.

Congratulations to authors Eris Garriga, Dahlma Llanos-Figueroa and Theresa Varela (New York, NY) for their participation in the 20th anniversary of the National Puerto Rican Artisans and Authors Fair sponsored by Comité Noviembre and PRIDA.
Vibiana Aparicio-Chamberlin (Pasadena, CA) – was appointed to the Pasadena Library Commission by Mayor Victor Gordo. She read poetry at the ALOUD Los Angeles Main Library at the Mark Taper Forum Auditorium. On Dec. 13, she’ll have an Art exhibit about Our Lady of Guadalupe at La Morenita at Ave. 50 Studio. And, her chapbook, As Mexican As a Nopal, won publishing by Four Feathers Press.
Glenda Galvan-Garcia (Garden Grove, CA) – Her bilingual cookbook/ history book, The Whole Enchilada: Mexican Recipes Full of History and Fun, was awarded the Bronze medal for Best Cookbook by the International Latino Book Awards! The ceremony took place on October 25. Wonderful to see our dear Nora Comstock in attendance for her namesake Mariposa award.
Yolanda Nava (Los Angeles, CA) – was honored with a televised feature by KOAT-TV journalist Nicholas Gallo titled “Leaving a Legacy: Yolanda Nava. She released the Spanish edition of her memoir, A TRAVES DE LA OSCURIDAD, in November 2025. A powerful story of spiritual renewal, inner strength and the ability to find meaning in life’s most challenging moments. Yolanda also participated in the Feria International del Libro (FIL) de Guadalajara early this December.
Deborah Nevarez (Alhambra, CA) – is a Contributing Author to the online Inlandia Journal Fall 2025, as well as the anthology, Writing from Inlandia 2024 (both published 11/2025).
Mireya Perez-Bustillo (Brooklyn, NY) – is a featured reader for Brownstone Anthology 2025 on Dec 6; for the Artemis Poets Collective on Dec 21; and on Jan 1 for the New Year’s Day Alternative Reading, Westbeth.
Maritere Bellas (Manhattan Beach, CA) – has a new book out, TIO RICKY DOESN’T SPEAK ENGLISH / TIO RICKY NO HABLA INGLES, from Lil’ Libros. The book is a bilingual children’s book/ middle grade.
Flor Chaidez (Los Angeles, CA) – Her book, The Telemental Health Workbook, was published by Kendall Hunt Publishing, and available in English and Spanish. The book offers telemental health therapists a collection of engaging and innovative strategies for working with children and adolescents.
Nyx Coronado (Phoenix, AZ) – Her debut romance novel, THE DHAMPIR’S ACOLYTE, is a romance between a solitary dhampir and a merchant’s daughter. Can their romance withstand his ruthless family or will it cost her life?
Julieta Corpus (Donna, TX) – was named First Poet Laureate of Donna, Texas.
Anjanette Delgado (Florida) – published a book, EL SEXILIO, with a small independent publisher in Puerto Rico. It’s mostly in Spanish, and talks about us women and how sometimes we are forced to exile because of the violence against the feminine.
Nylda Dieppa (Orlando, FL) – Her poetic chapbook, Crumbs: Poems On the Journey From Rationed to Replete, has qualified as a finalist in the Royal Palm Literary Award competition.
Beatriz Fritschler (New York, NY) – is proud of her memoir, EMBODY JOY: A WOMAN’S JOURNEY OF RECONNECTION WITH HER BODY. 100% of the profits from the sale of the kindle version of this book are donated to the Aneurysm and AVM Foundation (TAAF).
Karen Gonzales (Denver, CO) – Ramas y Raices: The Best of CALMA was honored as an Anthology Finalist at the 2025 Colorado Book Awards on July 26, 2025, celebrating Colorado’s best literature published in 2024. It was the Conversations With Book selection of the Las Comadres & Friends Book Club in September 2025. Karen is co-founder of CALMA and one of her stories appears in the anthology.
Stephanie Elizondo Griest (Corpus Cristi, TX) – is on an extensive tour with her book, ART ABOVE EVERYTHING. Comadres along her tour route were happy to join her for readings and presentations.
Sylvia Heller (New York, NY) – has a new poetry book out, Danza de Cuatro. She also has a non-fiction book out, La huerta de los nómadaS, which honors the fertility goddesses of the world, mother earth and the path toward the simplicity of a garden.
Carmen Pena (New York, NY) – has two books out: HOW TO STOP FOR GOOD — a guide to lasting transformation and healing. And Latina Rise™: Step into Your Divine Destiny with Faith, Love, and Purpose — a book created to empower Latinas to rise in leadership, faith, and purpose. Both available in English and Spanish.
Ana Parra Vivas (Houston, TX) – Her book, QUANTAM GRATITUDE: A WOMAN’S 5-MINUTE DAILY JOURNAL FOR MANIFESTING LOVE, ABUNDANCE, HARMONY AND UNEXPECTED JOYS, was published in March. This project is especially meaningful to Ana—it’s designed to help women cultivate peace, clarity, and manifestation through the simple yet powerful practice of daily gratitude.
Mireya Perez-Bustillo (Brooklyn, NY) – Three of Mireya’s poems were accepted for publication in Voices-online journal of Li2program at G-Center CUNY.
Caridad Pineiro (New Jersey) – Her book, DEFENDED BY THE BODYGUARD, is out now. It’s the second book in her Crooked Pass Security series.
Linda J. Quintanilla (Austin, TX) – Her book, Warriors for Social Justice: Maria Jimenez of Houston and Mexican American Activists, was published by the University of North Texas Press in March.
Nimia Ramos Beauchamp (San Juan, PR) – self-published a AYurPermaVerse Coloring Book series for middle grade children, which has proven very popular.
Gabriela Rives (San Antonio, TX) – Her book, I CHOSE YOU, was just released by Editorial Portable. This is a Self-Help/ Motivational book, and also available in Spanish – YO TE ELEGI.

Lourdes Ruan (Lewisville, TX) – Her book, PAIN, MASTER OF LIFE, is full of autobiographic anecdotes. It is available in Spanish as well, DOLOR, MAESTRO DE VIDA.
Dr. Melba Salazar-Lucio (San Antonio, TX) – Her memoir, WHERE I AM FROM, will be published by Storyworth.
